WHEREAS: |
The City of Stamford is proud to
recognize Dr. Estelle Feinstein who is being
awarded the 1999 Babbidge Award by the Association for the
Study of Connecticut History; and |
WHEREAS: |
Dr. Feinstein is currently the consulting
historian for the Stamford Historical Society, and is the
author of three books about Stamford's history; and |
WHEREAS: |
Dr. Feinstein has served on the Board of
the Connecticut Historical Commission, American
Revolutionary Bicentennial Committee of Connecticut and was
a member of the Charter Revision Commission of the City of
Stamford; and |
WHEREAS: |
Dr. Feinstein has also been an active
participant-scholar with the Connecticut Humanities Council
and her contributions to the State of Connecticut, as well
as to the Stamford community, have left an indelible mark
and her extraordinary accomplishments regarding
Connecticut's past will be preserved for Connecticut's
future. |
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dannel P. Malloy, Mayor of
the City of Stamford, hereby proclaim Saturday, November 13, 1999, to
be
DR. ESTELLE FEINSTEIN DAY
and, on behalf of the citizens of this community,
extend our congratulations to Dr. Feinstein for her outstanding
achievements, and extend our best wishes for her continued success in
all her future endeavors.
