Stamford Historical Society and American Red Cross Chapter To Host April 21 Gala Dinner-Dance

The Stamford Historical Society and American Red Cross, Darien/Stamford Chapter, will co-host a gala dinner-dance, “Swing, Swing, Swing,” on Saturday, April 21, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Italian Center, 1620 Newfield Avenue. This event will benefit both the Stamford Historical Society and Red Cross.

The gala will feature dinner, wine and beer, music, dancing, prizes, a raffle and a business journal. Live music will be provided by Eight to the Bar, voted Best Vocal Group 2006 and Best Dance Band 2005 by Connecticut Magazine.

The gala will salute Stamford’s veterans of World War II and will celebrate the conclusion of the Society’s current exhibit, Pride and Patriotism: Stamford’s Role in World War II. A portion of the exhibit, containing items on loan from the Red Cross chapter, will be on view throughout the evening. In keeping with the theme, event planners encourage 1940s attire.

Advance tickets to the dinner-dance are available at $100 per person through the Stamford Historical Society, 1508 High Ridge Road.

For more information or to obtain advance tickets, contact the Society at 203.329.1183.
