The Costume and Textiles Collection comprises thousands of examples of clothing, accessories, quilts, coverlets, samplers, rugs and many other items dating from the 1700's to the last decades of the 20th century. These objects offer insight into the important areas of needle arts and fashion as they have evolved to the present day.
The collection is often featured in the exhibitions hosted by the Stamford History Center and is also open for research purposes.
Volunteers with sewing skills and textiles background are always welcome.

We are always interested in adding costume, accessory and textile items to the collection. Please contact us to learn how your treasures can become part of our collection. In addition, we need the following items: tall bookcases, low bookcases, legal size file cabinets, acid free tissue and boxes, flat storage cabinets.
