A few basics

A chamber pot  was a personal indispensable necessity. Hairpieces were commonly added to a woman's own tresses, curled with  heated curling irons, for formal evening wear. Hosiery consisted of long, white stockings for summer, or black stockings for winter, with garter bands to keep them up. A sample of high topped shoes, buttoned or laced, normally worn by women for daytime footwear. A sample of high topped shoes which were normally worn by women for daytime footwear.
